Sporting success

We encourage all our children to participate in and enjoy sports. From our fun filled sports days that include all the children and their families to the huge range of competitions our Key Stage 2 children attend, sport is an important part of what we do.

Of course some children excel at sport and, with the expert guidance and coaching of our dedicated staff, in addition to their own hard work, they regularly achieve success in a variety of competitions. Above all however we are incredibly proud of the way our children conduct themselves when representing our school – an example of which can be seen below...

"I would just like to take this opportunity to email you and say how proud you must be of the School Boccia team that attended the school games at the EIS on Friday 22nd March in Sheffield. Your team were a credit to your school-so well behaved, well mannered, friendly and supportive to all teams and to staff responsible for the organisation on the day. Could you please pass on to your Head teacher, team members and their parent or carers how fantastic they were."

Congratulations to the Y3/4 Boys Football Team in winning the Doncaster District Football Tournament yesterday at The Keepmoat Stadium.

With over 34 teams competing from across Doncaster, the boys played 8 matches in total. The team won all 8 games and scored a total of 18 goals without conceding any. The level of football on show from the Shaw Wood team was truly scintillating playing a great brand of football. The team will now go on to represent Doncaster in the finals.
