School Meals
Our 5 star rated kitchen offers a variety of meals for your child to enjoy. We have all appropriate procedures in place that comply with current legislation and we provide diets for children with special dietary needs whether it is for cultural, religious or health reasons.
Diets provided on the grounds of health are on the official instruction of the Dietetics Department at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. If your child is a patient under the dietitian at the hospital then please ask them to forward the information to us in advance of your child starting school.
If your child has an agreed place at Shaw Wood Academy please contact the school office on 01302 831307 to make an appointment to discuss your child’s religious, cultural or special dietary needs.
Payment for school meals is to be paid via Parent Pay (www.parentpay.com). The cost of a school meal is £2.80 per day (£14.00 per week). Payment for school meals should be made in advance of the meals being taken and parents can pay for weeks in advance if they wish.
To support the kitchen team, we ask that children remain on the same meal choice (school meal/packed lunch) for the full half term. The only exception to this is if your child becomes eligible for Free School Meals.
If you require log in details to activate your Parent Pay account please contact the school office.
There may be a slight change to the menus if we experience food delivery issues.
Packed Lunches
Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch to school but this should be balanced and healthy with no chocolate bars, sweets or fizzy pop. Dilute pop/juice is permitted. School does not provide drinks or spoons for yoghurts etc. Please do not overload your child’s lunch box.
